I am honoured to stand before you today to celebrate our nation’s 69th Independence Anniversary.
The theme for this year`s celebration; “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope” is a call to action for all Ghanaians to come together and work towards a brighter future.
As we reflect on our journey as a nation, we remember the sacrifices of tirelessly for our independence, their vision for a free and prosperous Ghana continues to inspire us today. As the Municipal Chief Executive, I urge all citizens to emulate their qualities and work towards building a prosperous nation.
The Government of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramina Mahama since assuming office have made a significant process in various sectors of our economy, including education with initiatives like ‘No Free Stress” policy for Tertiary students, allocating GH₵3.5 billion to enhance free SHS initiative (targeting double-track system removal) and scrapping teacher licensure exams. Key Initiatives also include boosting STEM/Technical education, improving teacher welfare with allowance`s and upgrading school infrastructure. Introduction of special needs, including the provision of assistive devices and increased daily feeding grants, are all measures and policies the government have initiated to enhance our education system.
However, we still face some challenges that require collective effort and unity. Let us put aside our differences and work together to achieve our common goal of economic emancipate and Development.
To our students, I say, you are the future leaders of Ghana, study hard, be disciplined and strive for excellence.
To our teachers, I commend you for your tireless efforts in shaping the minds of our future leaders.
Let us celebrate our diversity and use it as a strength to build a prosperous Ghana. Together, we can restore hope and create a brighter future for all.
Happy 69th Independence Anniversary Ghana and Ayekoo to you all.
