MUNICIPAL ROAD SAFETY COMMITTEE (MRSC)

Functions of the Road Safety Committee

The functions of the Municipal Road Safety Committee shall be to:

• Lead in the planning, development and implementation of road safety programs and activities in the district.
• Make road safety policy proposals for consideration by the Assembly and the National Road Safety Authority.
• Assist to implement policies approved by the National Road Safety Authority.
• Collaborate and build strategic relationships with government, public and private sector partners and other stakeholders in favor of road safety.
• Advice the Assembly and National Road Safety Authority on issues and challenges related to road safety in the district.
• Ensure the preparation and submission of the annual work plan and budget and other periodic reports to the Assembly, the RCC and NRSA for review and adoption.
• Supervise, regulate and ensure compliance with the provisions of NRSA Act and Regulations made under it and any other enactment relating to road safety.
