KWAEBIBIREM MUNICIPAL-KADE.
REPORT ON THE INTER ZONAL SPORTS HELD ON THE 16TH AND 17TH OF MAY AT KADE RC/SHTS
On the evening of 15th May 2024, five zones in the Kwaebibirem municipality reported at the RC school with the remaining zone reporting in the morning. Each zone presented fifty-five athletes with six officials. Under 13 football competition kicked started at the RC football field with the Municipal Director present together with HRM and PRO of the Directorate.
Official opening ceremony was held at the Kade Senior High Technical School Park.
The Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive were present to grace the occasion. All athletes, Teachers and Officers from the directorate were present as well.
All football matches were completed. Other events like athletics and handball were affected by the rain on the first day.
On a whole things went on smoothly with no casualties on and off the field.
Nkwantanang Methodist won the under 13 boys football, Abaam zone won the volley boys, Kade zone won the volley girls, Asuom zone won the under 15 girls football, and Atobriso zone won the under 15 boys football. Twenty (20) boys were selected for the municipal boys’ team and fifteen (15) girls were selected as well.
Challenges
Most concerned teachers neglected their roles even though they were assigned.
All zones were handicapped with money for transportation.
Money released for the program was half less the total budget presented.
Some heads refused to release learners for the program.
The rain affected athletics.
Strengths
Games were played peacefully.
Contingents were fed well.
Zones were motivated by the MP and the MCE.
Recommendations
Zones should feed their contingents and be supported by the municipal with their transportation.
Heads be reminded sports is part of the school program.
