RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE AGRIC SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, 16TH MAY 2024 AT THE CONFERENCE HALL OF THE AGRIC DEPARTMENT OF KWAEBIBIREM MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY
The Agric Subcommittee meeting held on Thursday, 16th May 2024 agreed that the following recommendations be forwarded to the Executive Committee for consideration and implementation.
1. The Subcommittee would like to report that Hon. Amos Martey was elected as the Chairperson of the Committee.
2. The Subcommittee recommended that to facilitate the successful implementation of the Planting for Food and Jobs program, the Agric Department should liaise with PFJ so the input meant for farmers on the initiative is delivered to farmers on time for either major or minor season.
3. The Subcommittee recommended that the Assembly should employ more Extension Officers to enable effective demonstrations and education especially for the Care4D Field Organic Demonstrations for farmers in the rural arrears as the present numbers of Extension Officers are not enough to cater to the needs of farmers in the Municipal.
