The Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly has intensified its efforts to improve environmental sanitation with a successful National Sanitation Day Clean-Up Exercise held at Pramkese and Kade on Friday, 31st July and Saturday, 1st August 2026.
The exercise formed part of the Assembly’s continued commitment to promoting clean, healthy and sustainable communities across the Municipality.
KEY ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
During the exercise, participants engaged in several sanitation activities, including:
🔹 Desilting and clearing of drains and gutters
🔹 Sweeping and cleaning of streets and public spaces
🔹 Cutting and clearing of weeds and overgrown areas
🔹 Collection and proper disposal of accumulated solid waste
🔹 General cleaning of community surroundings
The exercise brought together Environmental Health Officers, Assembly staff, community members, local leaders and other stakeholders, who worked together to improve sanitation conditions in the two communities.
IMPACT OF THE EXERCISE
The clean-up exercise resulted in cleared drains, cleaner streets and public spaces, and the removal of accumulated waste from the communities.
Beyond the physical clean-up, the exercise also served as an important public sensitisation activity, reminding residents of their collective responsibility to maintain good sanitation practices and desist from indiscriminate disposal of waste.
KEEPING KWAEBIBIREM CLEAN IS A COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY
The Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly commends all residents, stakeholders and personnel who participated in the exercise and encourages everyone to sustain the cleanliness achieved by properly disposing of waste and actively participating in future sanitation exercises.
