REPORT ON TRAINING FOR GIRLS IN INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

FROM 16TH-20TH OCTOBER, 2023

The Kwaebibirem Municipal had the training at two (2) centers, fifteen (15) girls at each center, making a total of thirty (30) participants with Three (3) facilitators, and two supporting staff. The Training centers were Kade R/C Basic School and Asuom Community ICT Centers.

Participants were housed at each center. Participants at Asoum center lodged at Asoum Senior High while those at Kade center lodged at Kade Senior High/Technical School from Monday to Saturday.

Lessons began at each center at 7.ooam each day, with intermittent breaks until 5.oo pm.

Breakfast, Lunch and Super were served daily.

Facilitators were on task daily and gave participants opportunity of practice. Learners were actively involved and learned with enthusiasm.

The Municipal Assembly and the Education Directorate offered the needed support. Participants had their first assessment in theory on Friday, 20th October, 2023.

The second assessment which was practical was done on Saturday, 21st October, 2023 at Asoum center after which the programme was duly closed by the Municipal Chief Executive.

Appreciation:

The Girls Coordinator expresses her appreciation to the programme organizers, GIFEC, the Minister for Communication and Digitalization, and all stake-holders for such programme to empower girls in ICT.

Secondly, to the Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly and the Education Directorates for the needed support to make the programme a success.

MCE, encourage the pupils of SDA schools on the importance of education.

He emphasis on the need to learn hard and become a very prominent person in future. 

Awards were giving to (STEM) girls in ICT who performed very well in their various endeavors. Some of the items include Laptops from His Excellence, the President of the Republic of Ghana.
